Amazing Maasai Girls Project
A special thanks to Gill & John Elias of The Sanctuary at Ol Lentille for sharing their local knowledge about the area, for opening their home to us, and for keeping the idea of the race and our scholarship fund alive. None of it would have been possible without them. To learn more about how their luxury resort is contributing to economic and community development, click here.
We are also incredibly grateful to Boston-based experts, Marathon Tours, and Michael Hughes of Drumbeat & Race Director of the Nairobi Marathon. Together they represent a formidable team managing The Amazing Maasai Marathon from 2014 onwards. Thanks to them the marathon will continue as a unique community-based challenge for both international and local Kenyan runners, and as a primary fundraiser for the Amazing Maasai Girls Project.
Thank you to Jenni & Jason Doherty, founders of Daraja Academy a free, independently-supported secondary school for the most disadvantaged Kenyan girls. With their unwavering commitment to build a sustainable school, Jenni and Jason are the angels of girl's education for Kenya and an inspiration to us.
Our most sincere thanks to Maurice Duteau & Shirley Gu of Temco Controls in Shanghai, China for their generous financial contribution, which not only got the Amazing Maasai Marathon off the ground but has enabled the scholarship to grow and continue.
